SMEPA is currently running a workshop to awaken and rearm young people in entrepreneurship in the Yaoundé 5 Council Constituency.

Held under the chairmanship of Mayor Augustin Bala, the Mfandena Multi-purpose Sports Complex within the Yaoundé 5 Council hosted on 7 February 2025 the training of some fifty (50) youths in business capacity-building using the behavioural approach and practical tools for initiating entrepreneurship developed with the United Nations Conference on Trade Development (UNCTAD).
The aim of this training session was to change the mindset of young people, while encouraging them to create, and foster the emergence of a slew of entrepreneurs amongst them, whose business, and development would enable them to achieve a significant rate of socio-economic integration.
The trainers talked to the young people about business ideas, entrepreneurial attitude, and how to visualise the structure of a business and its functions. ‘In our municipality, we want to have a dynamic driven by our young people,’ the Mayor emphasised. For this first batch, ‘the town council will be providing two million euros to support two projects run by two young people. These are the Liquid Soap Manufacturing Project and the Interior Decoration Project using decorative paintings,’ said the mayor. The second workshop is scheduled for 21 February at the Mfandena Multipurpose Sport Complex.
