Program for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship Spirit among Youths (PE2MJ)

The Minister of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Social Economy and Handicraft, Pr Laurent Serge ETOUNDI NGOA will on Monday the 12th of December 2016, at Nkolbisson Yaounde will proceed with the official launching of the pilot training workshops of the program for the Promotion of  Entrepreneurship Spirit among Youths (PE2MJ) which was launched in April 2016.

The implementation of this Program, which is intended to spread throughout the national territory, begins in Yaounde on Monday 5th December by the training of trainers and will be followed by pilot training workshops for youths at the Multifunctional Center for the Promotion of Youths at Madagascar and the Technical High School of Nkolbisson Yaoundé.

This Initiative of the SME Promotion Agency is to act as an effective response to the problem of unemployment which affects particularly the youth (more than half of the national population), the program for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Spirit among Youths intends to:

  • Inculcate in every youth, irrespective of the level of education, but also in those who drop out from a classic educational background, a decent alternative to the vision of the world which is being presented to them today ;
  • Permit to every youth to have a clear choice between the desire to become employed and the ambition to be an employer;
  • Make youths to no longer be job seekers, but creators of growth and employment.

To this effect, the Program for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship spirit among Youth is a clarion call from the Head of State, His Excellency Paul BIYA, which encourages Youths to be creative and innovative, with a guarantee of Governments Support.

The Program for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship Spirit among Youths benefits from the technical and financial partnership of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and certain Ministries such as: Ministry of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft, Ministry of Youth and Civic Education, Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, Ministry of Secondary Education and the Ministry of Higher Education.
