March 2016. Cameroun joins other member countries to celebrate the 2016 edition of the Commonwealth Day.
To mark celebrations, the Ministry of External Relations organized a one day inclusive Commonwealth exhibition village at the court yard of the Yaounde city hall on the 11 of March. Being an inclusive commonwealth the participation of all stake holders was necessary. APME like many other structures was not left out. It participated fully in most of the activities. It began with the acquisition of a stand at the inclusive commonwealth exhibition village which was an opportunity to unfold its missions and activities to the public.
On the 14 of March which was the Commonwealth Day proper, it was celebrated at the Yaounde city hall chaired by the Minister of External Relations, Lejeune MBELLA MBELLA, in the presence of several members of Government, High Commissioners of Great Britain, Canada, South Africa amongst other national and diplomatic dignitaries. APME was represented by a Delegation of three.
In a keynote the Minister Delegate in charge with Corporation with the Commonwealth Minister, Chief Dr Joseph Dion NGUTE, stressed that the theme “An inclusive Commonwealth” is an appeal to member countries to build an inclusive society, a society that incorporates different segments of the socio-political components in Government decision making and management policies. He emphasized on the need for the development of community resilience, stronger social bond which he said are vital components of national development strategy.
